You might have to correct me if I’m not quite “getting” the article.
But if someone puts their email address on a sign-up list for a campaign, political organization or whatever and then they set up their email server to redirect their emails to their PDA or pager, then what right do they have to get pissed that you emailed them and it ended up on their phone?
I mean really, whose fault is that?! No one is making them “too cool for school” with all their technical mumbo jumbo!
I can see both sides of the argument. I don't have an SMS plan, but my stupid cell phone company and a few friends keep sending me msgs, and you cant tell the difference on my phone between opening a text msg and listening to a voice mail until it already opens it.
In addition, since I only have a cell phone, my phone number has gotten out to the commercial world, despite Do Not Call lists.
Why they don't make you pay just for out going txt msgs and outgoing calls like other countries, I don't know.
