Sunstein is way off!

We do not live in a linear, one-dimensional world. I am strongly against the death penalty and adamantly in favor of protecting the rights to a legal abortion. I’m also a former varsity athlete, a girlfriend, a sister, a daughter and a granddaughter; and they all impact my decisions and personal opinions far greater than someone I hear on the radio or an article in the paper.
Therefore I believe that any attempt by Sunstein to claim that the possible decline of public forums and their ever decreasing influence on the public is somehow a huge loss to the community-at-large is ludicrous!
After reading Sunstein’s article I truly believe this man lives in a far off galaxy. Never mind his theories of the impact and the role of the internet in the future; I think his description of the current state of public political discourse and overall democratic participation is not only without sufficient merit, it simply doesn’t exist.
