I enjoyed Sylvester Brown’s article, “Conyers Looks for News in the Wrong Place,” he pointed out a great point that American’s just aren’t all that interested in what goes on in Washington. It really is pathetic that we don’t have the attention span to follow world news or events and while it is reality, I think it saddens most people (especially GSPM’ers). Brown is accurate in stating the mainstream media is no longer interested in actual news because Americans would much rather see the next big sex tape (as long as China Doll is no where near it) instead of informative reporting on current global events. News is no longer news, it is entertainment and they are in it for the ratings…not a new concept, just an ever growing trend.
So do you think the internet is a catalyst for this trend? Or simply a new media forum for the shift to expand??
