Political websites

Based on the Ireland/Nash reading, the map is clear about what a political website must have and how to avoid common mistakes. I personally believe the most common mistake is that campaigns don't properly maintian their websties and they have only links to old information and invitations to events that have long past. They started their websites because the heard somehwere that "you have to have one these days", but their main problem is that they have no idea what they are trying to accomplish with the website and have no plan on how to use it to their advantage.

Good call; too often it's as though they printed up a brochure the day they launched the campaign, pasted it on the internet, and never looked at it again. I also love campaign blogs that were never updated past the first weekend...really shows a commitment to the medium.
