It's like GSPM, but at the end you might get a job!
The Hotline is producing a reality TV show just for the GSPM set:
The original series RED/BLUE pits liberals against conservatives in a winner-take-all contest. Contestants drawn from a national search will set up camp in a Georgetown townhouse and do battle for the ultimate political prize: $1 million to spend on a cause or campaign in the 2006 election.
The competitions and the resulting prize will test Americans' commitment to politics in a way we've never seen before. Over the course of 8 episodes, 12 citizens from every imaginable political point of view will battle it out in a series of events that challenge their fundamental beliefs and test their ability to drive a political steamroller."
Gee, this seems like a way to truly bring people together for rational discussion and reflection on issues of national importance. OR it's going to be Fear Factor:Politics! Some liberal is going to have to eat Newt Gingrich's intestines and run naked through a Hill prayer breakfast! Cool!

I'll be very interested in seeing how this works out. Certainly looks like something I'd be interested in. Of course, I also liked K Street, so I might not be the best judge of the general public...
I like the reward though: control of a $1 million 527. Certainly would ease the worry of getting a job after graduation.
Wow it would be great if we could get a GSPM student or graduate on the show.
It will be interesting to see if a conservative wins with the so called "liberal bias" in the media.
It would be nice ot see if this show gets good ratings because then it would restore my faith that the general public still cares about politics.
With my luck it will probably get taken off the air after 3 episodes!
I am so going to get on this show. And I'm sure Newt's insides are delicious. Of course, you know the show will turn into people hooking up with one another and going out in Georgetown and have nothing to do with politics. It's like Grella says, politics is like the Real World.
I agree with Brent. It will just dumb down the political management profession and show us all to be a bunch of chain smoking drunks. This is just another example of reality overload. I am sure I will probably watch, but only because the Femocrat will be selected to be on the show.
Remember how the West Wing got people interested in politics? I still have friends who know nothing of politics, but say "I want Toby's job."
This show might have the opposite effect: It could turn people off to politics. It'll be like a weekend College Republican or College Democrat conference - a cut throat environment complete with huge egos.
The popularity of this show will probably be limited to those inside the Beltway, but if a GSPM student was on there I might be tempted to tune in.
