Underestimating-Haven't we Learned yet

As I have read the various postings from my various classmates some have the argument that the internet is indeed a powerful tool while others say we give it way to much creditablility and power than it truly has. Home I don't buy that argument and here is why. I have read the articles that Emmi has posted on the class blog about how they're using cell phones, text messaging and even the web to mobilize. I think we're all underestimating the power of what technology can do. We may see the internet as a weak tool, but other causes such as Radical Islamic based groups such as Hezbollah and HAMAS have picked up on this. By telling everyone at once they're staging a city wide protest or to spread the word for supporters to not be in an area where a bomb would go off. So I am willing to entertain a rebuttal on this argument of how the internet has no impact!
