Power of the Bog

Last night while listening to our guest speaker I perked up when he made the comment that the Blog made the Internet what it is. I don't agree with that. The rise of the Internet only became mainstream when business became involved and anything to make commerce easier, faster, and increase profits will always get noticed and put to the forefront. I think blogs are important and have a definite role in increasing people who use them. Blogs are powerful only because we make them so. Also it is just in its infancy and in all honesty we are in the middle of an actual revolution of how people communicate and where they get their news from. Blogs provide a way for people to intelligently articulate their arguements and their views. The Internet rose to common use thanks to business but the use of blogs is what is keeping the Internet going at the same steady rate and we all know that the Internet is in the infancy stage and it's capabilities are still not yet comprehensible.
