The Little People have Power
I was going through the fundraising primer for political consultants yesterday and one of the main points that caught my attention was how the Internet increased the pool of donors. Ironically the pool that increased were the low dollar donors. What this means to the voters is increased power. The voter consider themselves to be the little people who seem to have no voice against those who have more contribution power. The primer goes on to state that "introducing an alternative model for raising money increased the pool of small donors and decreased the reliance of large contributions ". This all means that the 'Average Joe' has had the playing field leveled so their interests have just as much attention addressed as the large donors. For years voters have clamored for more fairness and attention and thanks to the Internet the little people have power.
