Volunteer Incentives
I think the volunteer incentive idea put forth in chapter 12 on recruiting volunteers online is a great Idea. I do however have one concern, is it only viable in higher level campaigns. Is this something that would translate as well into, for instance, a State Senate campaign? Will people be excited enough to put forth the effort for a local candidate? If not is there a way to do it differently for the local level?

Exapnding on your post the volunteer recruitment can work on the lower levels using the internet as well, however most feel that it's more effective done face-to-face. Reserach has shown that voters want to feel more connected to thier candidate or at least can have a feeling that this candidate knows the voter. As time moves on the internet will improve on methods to recruit volunteers even suggest that volunteers do thier duty from thier own homes via the web. At least all the paper work aspects of the campaign that is!
I think you raise an interesting point on the use of online recruiting of volunteers. I feel that its success is somewhat dependent on the locality of the race. I think if it is a small, rural campaign, face to face is a better option. However, the continuing popularity of the Internet may change that aspect entirely. At the same time, the Internet is a great way to motivate young volunteers everythwhere.
