Web Feeds are a Good Idea
I just read through Amy Graham's article on web feeds as an alternate to e-newsletters for campaigning. This is a great idea, especially as many users have spam blockers that prohibit specific types of e-mail from getting through. Since November, my computer has blocked over 2K messages. I've also heard from friends that they get new e-mail addresses due to too much spam.
Beyond this tool, it's even more imperative for a campaign to track how many are blocked to re-send alternative messages. Without this feature, your message isn't being heard which could lead to a loss for you or your cause.

I agree sometimes it is almost more important to find out who your message is reaching as opposed to who it is not reaching. In the age of spam it is important to track which email addresses are no longer working.
I also just read this article and although I did not know very much about RSS beforehand, it does seem like a very viable alternate to email newsletters. With RSS it seems that a person can opt in to the information they receive. While in theory email newsletters are the same way, with spam blockers and having to register for some websites to access information, people often don't get the ones they actually want. I'm looking forward to seeing how RSS effects the future of Internet communication.
