WOW! What a Great Resource!
I just finished reading Political Consultants Online Fundraising Primer and it's a wonderful resource and tool! It reinforced Professor Ireland's point about not only setting an overall campaign strategy, but one specifically designed for online use. The last chapter is especially helpful as it walks through alternatives to validating Websites as an effective marketing tool. This is a great companion to yesterday's posting regarding the lack of media agencies recommending the Internet as a marketing tactic. It appears as if there are ways to measure success. Great find, especially for those interested in raising funds and campaigning.

I'm interested in fundraising as well and read the primer a few months ago. I found it very interesting and helpful. I think that there is a huge future for online fundraising as a replacement for direct mail solicitations. It's estimated that only 1-2% of people donate when solicited through direct mail pieces. With those numbers, it makes sense to mass email at little cost versus mailing a 13-page letter. Also email allows you to attach videos and pictures that can be much more persuasive in getting donors to give more money.
