Terry Schiavo Isn't the Only One Who Died
I don’t think many people read web site’s privacy policies. They are long. They are boring. And they often don’t seem relevant.
Yet, they are in a sense a legal agreement – one that makes it so George Bush can pass on his list of downers and e-mail newsletter subscribers to the Republican Party while John Kerry cannot do the same for the Democrats.
It’s with this knowledge and a squishy feeling from having read The New York Times’ story the sale of information about donors to the Schiavo family’s legal fight that I logged onto The Terry Schindler-Schiavo Foundation web site to find out the site’s policy.
The funny thing is, both links labeled “Your Privacy” are dead. (In their defense, so too in the “Donate” link.
I suppose it is only appropriate since the sale of detailed personal data has essentially killed privacy anyway.
