Disturbing

I'm disturbed by a couple of comments on John Conyer's blog that allege 1) that the recent House hearing/forum on the DSM tolerated anti-semitic statements, and distribution of anti-semitic materials; 2) that Democratic Underground is anti-semitic. Does anyone know anything about this?

I don't think Democratic Underground is an anti-semetic site, but there is definately a faction on the website that is. Coincidentally I stopped going to DU over a disgustingly anti-semetic comment. It was criticizing Israel and it was along the lines of, "now I know what motivated the Nazis." DU really represents the most despicable parts of the Democratic Party in a lot of ways.

It's amazing how the political spectrum comes full circle. During the WTO protests, you had far left supporters of protecting union jobs, preserving the environment of developing countries and socialists, engaged in protest along side arch-conservatives and neo-nazis (I am not implying the two are the same thing)worried about protecting the nations borders and 'cultural integrity'.
It is similar in the Israel debate. Neo-nazis hate Jews, no need to explain further. The far left thinks our Israel policy is way too pro-Israeli and that Jewish people are pushing the policy behind the scenes, and therefore start to spout anti-Jewish propoganda. It really is a circular political spectrum instead of a linear one.
