Our Blog Listings
I've been thinking about something related to our previous reading about hiring consultants to get google to list your site high up in their list for a search. I know that when I start looking at my classmates' blogs, I often start at the top, with "Advise and Consent." I wonder whether placement in the alphabetical list affects comment rates...

Ok, my confession is: I read the class blogs in NetNewsWire--in alphabetical order. And I commented on the first blog (with a name starting with an 'A')I read today, because it was the first one I found interesting.
There have been others that I would have commented on, but my arthritis is bad and I don't feel like typing more. But now I realize my sins. I'll start reading from the end of the alphabet for a while. Then maybe something in the middle?
I hadn't thought about that, but it's bound to isn't it? I was reading stuff about questionaire design this morning for polling, and they discuss how important the order of questions is, and how reading something earlier in a poll can affect your answers later on.
I wonder if its the same effect with bloggs, especially if you read them in a RSS reader. As you move down, reading stuff, do you react differently to a post if you have read a different view earlier, because it came higher in the alphabet?!
Maybe sharpreader should introduce a random shuffle feature?!
