It’s Not Time to Replace E-mail Newsletters Yet.
Amy Gahran makes some great points her article, "What are Webfeeds (RSS), and Why Should You Care?" Webfeeds are a great new tool that need to be used by political campaigns and organizations. However, I also think it isn’t time to replace e-mail newsletters yet. Webfeeds should be added to the list of marketing tools but not yet used to replace current ones.
In her article, Gahran points out four problems with using Webfeeds. Of these, I think the first one, the fact that "learning is a hassle" is the most important. The average person who subscribes to e-mail newsletters is not yet ready to use and, certainly not ready to rely solely on Webfeeds. These disadvantages can eventually be overcome. Thus, it is important that Webfeeds are used in conjunction with these other tools.

Great points about the webfeeds.
Can you imagine exclusively using webfeeds in a Hick-Town? Do you think it would work anywhere as a focal point for the campaign communication? What about in DC?
Is it a generational gap or more of an economic divide because of limited access?
Very well said. Patience is not a virtue in our society anymore; however, this particular form of communication will take time to be understood, but when it is, the flood gates will open.
